"Safety Net" is a 5x7" mixed media monotype consisting of two solar plates, overprinted on Xuan paper and chine colle'd to Rives BFK printmaking paper, in an edition of 20. The first plate of this image is an etching of lines of transmission redesigned to appear as a net, and representing communication. The second plate is an etching made from a charcoal drawing of my sister Susan. The combined image represents the illusion of a safety net, and the impossibility of trying to keep anything safe.
