This mixed media painting, 30x22", was done from a smaller on site watercolor during the "Branching Out" project in an old growth forest in WA state. The original painting sketch was done 70 feet up in a tree on a 4x8' platform, erected so that artists of all types could get up into the forest canopy of SW Washington, and see what they could see. I did 13 paintings up there that week, and then back in the studio completed 5 of them in another medium, pastel into wet watercolor.
